David has been the MP for Somerset and Frome since 1997. He was Chairman of Avon and Somerset Police Authority from 1993 to 1996 and is a former leader of Somerset County Council.

David is the MP for Cambridge. A former lecturer in law and economics at Cambridge University, he was Leader of Cambridge City Council from 2000 to 2003.

Home Affairs Spokesperson in the House of Lords

Sue Miller has been a peer since 1998 and was the party’s agriculture spokesperson in the Lords for 8 years.

A QC since 1979, he has also been a lecturer in law and has a strong interest in legal reform. Lord Thomas is the Liberal Democrats’ Shadow Attorney General.

Lord Avebury Lord Avebury

Eric Avebury speaks in the House of Lords on civil liberties. As Eric Lubbock, he won the 1962 Orpington by-election and was an MP for 8 years, inheriting his peerage a year later. He sat on the Royal Commission on Standards of Conduct in Public Life 1974-6, and was Liberal Spokesman on Immigration and Race Relations, 1971-83. He is a Buddhist, and an active Patron of Angulimala, the Buddhist Prison Chaplaincy. He visits prisons, and raised prison issues in the House. He also plays an active role on asylum policy.
