Another “lost” file

The Home Office’s enthusiasm for missing their self-imposed deadlines seems to know no bounds.

Where is the six-monthly report on the cost of Identity Cards?

It’s a year and twenty days since the bill got royal assent (30 March), six months and 11 days since the last report. Given they are required by law to publish this report six-monthly, should we be calling the police…?

    Will any Liberal Democrat MP ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department John Reid directly why he has failed in his legal duty to present this report to Parliament within the statutory time period ?

    Is this deliberate delay intended to try to keep the issue of the National Identity Register and ID Card scheme away from the attention of the media, before the May 3rd elections ?
